One city, two seasons of kit
Delhi's mean daily maximum is about 40 °C in May and 39 °C in June, while January averages about 20 °C by day and 7.5 °C at night, with dense fog. Most of the rain comes in July and August. A kit that is right for a May afternoon is wrong for a January morning, so a team that plays all year may need two sets.

School football's big tournament
The Subroto Cup, run by the Indian Air Force, has been held in New Delhi every year since 1960 and is a national inter-school football tournament. The 65th edition started on 19 August 2026 at Ambedkar Stadium, and the 64th had 106 teams. A school entering several age groups can order them all together, and every piece counts towards one tier.

Club, college and corporate
Arun Jaitley Stadium, the old Feroz Shah Kotla, dates from 1883 and is owned by the DDCA; the ICC calls it the second-oldest functioning international stadium in India. Delhi's top football tier is the Delhi Premier League. At Delhi University, the Sports Council runs inter-college cricket and football on a July to June calendar, and the 2025-26 inter-college cricket was played in early January.
Gurugram and Noida have their own corporate circuit: a PHDCCI corporate super sixes with 32 company teams in March 2026, and corporate cricket qualifiers for Delhi, Gurugram and Noida running from September 2026 to February 2027. Those winter dates are exactly when a full-sleeve jersey earns its place.
