Inter-company sport is big here
Hyderabad's IT industry runs its own sports calendar. HYSEA's inter-corporate sports in late 2024 brought about 2,000 employees from 60 companies across 15 sports. The CII Telangana Corporate Cricket Premier League has run for company teams, and a new corporate cricket league launched at Tech Mahindra in HITEC City in January 2026.

HCA league cricket
The Hyderabad Cricket Association's A1 Division League for 2025-26 started on 19 June, with 22 teams playing two-day matches in pools before the play-offs. For 2026-27 the HCA's season plan moves to an A Division multi-day league in three pools, with ten pools in the B Division. A June start means kit is needed in May, which is also Hyderabad's hottest month.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal is the HCA's international venue, and the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Gachibowli is now used mostly for football.
Dry heat, then the monsoon
Hyderabad's mean daily maximum is about 38 to 39 °C in April and May, often above 40 °C, but afternoon humidity from February to May is only about 29 to 33%. Sweat dries fast; the sun is the problem.
