A sevens kit, piece by piece
Sevens football is most popular in Kerala's Malabar region, with matches running roughly from November to May and around 50 tournaments in a season under the Sevens Football Association. A sevens side is small, so a kit order is small too, but the shirts get worn hard: several matches in a tournament, often on hard, dry grounds and under floodlights.

EMS Stadium and the city's clubs
The Kozhikode Corporation EMS Stadium, built in 1977, is home to Gokulam Kerala FC and, since 2024, Calicut FC. Calicut FC won the first Super League Kerala title in 2024, and Gokulam Kerala won the I-League in 2020-21 and 2021-22. The stadium has also hosted the Nehru Cup, the Santosh Trophy and the Sait Nagjee tournament. Volleyball is the city's second sport, and Calicut Heroes won the Prime Volleyball League in 2024.

Volleyball kits
Volleyball tops need a different cut from football shirts: sleeveless or short sleeves for arm movement, a slightly longer back so it stays tucked on a dive, and a libero top in a contrasting colour. All of that is a design choice on the mockup, at the same price.
The wettest weeks of the year
Kozhikode gets about 3,000 mm of rain a year, and June and July alone bring more than 1,500 mm. Evening humidity is 84 to 87% in those months. That is outside the sevens season, but it is when pre-season training, college football and the monsoon leagues happen. For a kit that will be washed and dried indoors in July, a 160 GSM knit dries far faster than a heavy shirt, and a dyed-in print will not peel however often it goes through the machine.
College football
The University of Calicut runs zone-level inter-collegiate football, with the inter-zone championship at the University Stadium. College teams usually need jerseys and shorts for 18 to 20 players and a GST invoice in the college's name. Both are routine.
