How do you choose the right jersey style for your sport?

Necklines, sleeves and cut all change how a jersey feels in play. Here is what each option does, and which styles teams pick for each sport.

Short answer: choose by how your sport moves. Cricket teams often pick polo or mandarin collars in half or full sleeve, football round or V neck, basketball and volleyball sleeveless or half sleeve, and cycling a zip front. Crew and V-neck are included in the jersey price; sport necklines add ₹50 and polo collars ₹100.

Quick answer

How do I choose a jersey style for my sport?

Start with the movement and conditions of your sport, then pick the neckline, sleeve length and cut. Arm-heavy sports such as basketball, volleyball and badminton suit sleeveless or raglan sleeves; cricket suits collars and longer sleeves for long days outdoors; football suits a simple round or V neck. At Xipid every style is made to order with no minimum, and you can see each one on its sport page, starting from custom jerseys.

Necklines

NecklineWhat it isPrice
Crew neck or V-neckClassic round collar or a sharp V openingIncluded
Sport necklinesApex, Dinker, Razor, Insert, Crossover, Striker+₹50
Polo collarsPolo buttons, polo zipper, V-neck polo, Chinese collar+₹100

A round or V neck is light and simple. Sport necklines add a contrast insert or a layered V for a more designed look. Polo and Chinese (mandarin) collars give a smarter finish that cricket, esports and corporate teams like.

Sleeves: sleeveless, half or full

  • ✓Sleeveless gives the arms full freedom. We make it for basketball, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, running and cycling.
  • ✓Half sleeve is the everyday team choice in every sport.
  • ✓Full sleeve adds ₹50 and suits cricket, cycling, biking, cooler weather or basketball shooting shirts. See full vs half sleeve cricket jerseys for the trade-off.

Raglan or set-in sleeves

A set-in sleeve is sewn in at the shoulder, the classic T-shirt cut. A raglan sleeve runs in one piece from the collar to the underarm, so there is no seam on top of the shoulder. Players who throw, smash or spike a lot often prefer raglan for the freer shoulder, and the diagonal seam also gives designers a line to follow with colour. Most of our styles come in both cuts at the same price.

Then pick the fabric

Style and fabric work together. Classic (160 GSM) is included, Jacquard adds ₹100 for a woven-in texture, and Signature adds ₹200 for heavier 190 GSM knits, Long Mesh 160 for basketball and summer, or Airlite 140 for running. Compare them in the jersey fabrics guide, and see every option side by side in what you can customize on a team jersey.

What is the difference between raglan and set-in sleeves?+
A set-in sleeve is sewn in at the shoulder. A raglan sleeve runs from the collar to the underarm with no seam on top of the shoulder, which many players find freer for throwing and smashing.
Which collar is best for a cricket jersey?+
Many cricket teams choose a polo or mandarin collar for a smart look, in half or full sleeve. Round and V neck cricket jerseys are lighter and cost less, since crew and V-neck are included in the base price.
Do you make sleeveless jerseys?+
Yes, for basketball, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, running and cycling, with a round or V neck.
Does the style change the price?+
Crew neck and V-neck are included. Sport necklines add ₹50, polo collars ₹100 and full sleeves ₹50 per jersey. Raglan and set-in cost the same.
