Jersey Design: Ideas, Trends & Real Examples

Great jersey design in 2026 comes down to three choices: two dominant colours plus one accent, one pattern idea executed with restraint, and numbers readable from thirty metres. Below: the trends we’re printing most across nine sports, and sport-by-sport guides with real designs from our factory.

Gradient fades dominate — a body shifting from a deep base into a brighter shade of the same family. Retro geometric blocks (diagonal panels, halved fronts) are back across football and volleyball, and minimal monochrome kits with a single accent line are the quiet favourite of corporate teams. Because our printing is full sublimation, complexity is free: a gradient costs the same as a plain kit, so design ambition is never a budget question.

Designer's tip: complexity is free with sublimation — a gradient costs the same as a plain kit. Spend your restraint, not your budget.

How do you brief a jersey designer well?

Three things beat a hundred words: your colours (a photo or colour codes), your logo (any format), and one reference you like the feel of. From that, a designer can produce a mockup you'll recognise as yours. Everything else — fonts, trims, panel shapes — is faster to react to on a mockup than to describe in advance.

What makes any jersey look professional?

In order: a readable number system (solid fill, contrast outline), restraint (one idea done well beats three competing), consistent logo placement (crest left chest, maker right, sponsor centred), and trim that picks up the accent colour. Get those right and even a simple kit looks league-grade.
