DESIGN GUIDE
Badminton kits live indoors under harsh hall lighting, so the strongest designs use one clean idea at speed: minimal bodies with a single diagonal speed line, high-contrast colours that read under white light, and a kit system that looks right on a 10-year-old junior and their coach alike.
Speed-line minimalism leads — a clean body crossed by one sharp diagonal accent, echoing the shuttle's flight path. Collar-block identity is the club favourite: a plain body with the collar and sleeve cuffs carrying the club colour, instantly recognisable across a hall of courts. Academies are moving to tonal two-shades — the same colour in two depths — which photographs cleanly for social media walls.
Designer's tip: complexity is free with sublimation — a gradient costs the same as a plain kit. Spend your restraint, not your budget.
Halls flatten colour, so contrast matters more than hue. Royal blue + white, black + citrus yellow and deep green + white all hold up; dusty pastels and mid-greys wash out. If your academy films matches, avoid fine stripes — they shimmer on camera.
Design the system, not the shirt: keep the accent geometry proportional (a diagonal that starts at the right shoulder works at every size), put the academy crest at a fixed chest height, and choose a fabric weight that suits junior sessions. We grade the design across the full size run automatically in the mockup.
