DESIGN GUIDE

How to Plan Sizes for a Whole Team (Without the Chaos)

Three habits prevent almost every sizing disaster we see: collect chest measurements, not size letters (everyone’s ‘L’ is different); use one shared roster sheet with name, number and size per player; and for open events, order on a proven size curve instead of guessing. Mixed sizes cost nothing extra in a sublimation order.

Why 'just ask everyone their size' fails

Because 'L' isn't a measurement. One brand's L is another's XL, and half your squad is quoting the size of a five-year-old t-shirt they remember fitting. The fix is one number: chest circumference. Have each player measure around the fullest part of the chest, compare against the size chart, done. It adds two minutes per player and removes the single biggest cause of reprints. Our size guide has the exact Xipid measurements per size.

Designer's tip: complexity is free with sublimation — a gradient costs the same as a plain kit. Spend your restraint, not your budget.

The roster sheet that makes ordering painless

Four columns: Name on jersey · Number · Size · Sleeve preference (if you're mixing cuts). One person owns the sheet — the moment sizes arrive via five WhatsApp threads and a phone call, someone gets a jersey that says RAHUL in size S who is neither. Send us that sheet and it flows straight into production; every Xipid order confirms the full roster back to you before printing, so there's a second pair of eyes on every row.

Ordering for open events: the size curve

For marathons and corporate events where you can't measure every registrant, order on a distribution. The curve that has served hundreds of Indian events well: S 10% · M 25% · L 30% · XL 20% · XXL 10% · 3XL 5%, tilted one notch larger for corporate crowds and one smaller for college events. Ordering a 5% buffer in M and L costs less than one disappointed finisher photo. We'll sanity-check your split against your headcount when you order event tees.

The mistakes that cause reprints

The greatest hits from our order desk: collecting sizes before announcing the fit (athletic cuts run snugger — say so upfront); forgetting the goalkeeper/libero needs a different colour and their own size; nicknames submitted for print without checking spelling against what the player actually wants; and ordering exact headcount with zero buffer for the teammate who joins next week. All avoidable with the sheet, the chart, and one owner.
