DESIGN GUIDE
Almost every modern sports jersey is 100% polyester knit — the question is which knit and which weight. Interlock is the smooth all-rounder, dot-knit and mesh ventilate harder for hot sports, and weight is measured in GSM (grams per square metre): roughly 130–140 for featherweight badminton kit up to 160+ for durable cricket wear.
Three knits cover nearly everything we produce. Polyester interlock — smooth both sides, holds print beautifully, the default for football and cricket. Dot-knit — micro-perforated, visibly breathable, the pick for badminton and summer tournaments. Sports mesh — open structure for maximum airflow, used in basketball singlets and as panelling. All three take sublimation identically, so fabric choice is about feel and climate, never print quality.
Designer's tip: complexity is free with sublimation — a gradient costs the same as a plain kit. Spend your restraint, not your budget.
GSM is fabric weight per square metre — higher means denser and more durable, lower means lighter and cooler. As working ranges from our floor: 130–140 GSM for badminton and running where every gram matters; 140–150 GSM for football and volleyball's balance of drape and durability; 150–165 GSM for cricket kit that lives outdoors all day and gets washed twice a week. When in doubt for Indian conditions, go lighter — heat kills more games than wear does.
Polyester fibres don't absorb water — they move it. Sweat is pulled along the fibre surface to the fabric's outer face where it spreads thin and evaporates fast. That's the whole trick, and it's why a soaked cotton tee weighs you down while a polyester jersey feels dry in minutes. Knit structure amplifies it: dot-knit's channels wick noticeably faster than flat interlock.
Our defaults, tuned over thousands of orders: cricket → interlock 150+ GSM (all-day sun, hard washing); football → interlock 140–150; volleyball → four-way-stretch interlock (dives and blocks); basketball → mesh or dot-knit singlets; badminton → the lightest dot-knit we run; cycling → high-wick light interlock with stretch panels; event tees → 140 GSM dot-knit that finishers keep wearing.
