Start with the cut
A basketball singlet is sleeveless, so the shape of the armhole and neck sets the look before any colour goes on. Crew and V-necks are included in the price. Sport necklines such as Apex, Razor, Crossover or Striker add A$5 and give a more modern finish.
Decide early whether you want a reversible singlet. Reversibles carry a light side and a dark side in one garment, which suits training, social competitions and clubs that play in two colours.
Pick your colours
- ✓Two main colours, one accent. The body colour, a side panel or trim colour, and an accent for numbers and the team name.
- ✓Think light and dark. Many competitions ask teams to wear light or dark depending on the fixture. If you play in both, consider a reversible or a second set.
- ✓Use the side panels. A contrasting side panel from the armhole to the hem is the classic basketball detail and frames the body without crowding the front.
- ✓Gradients and patterns are free. Every singlet is fully sublimated, so a fade, a subtle texture or a pattern from your crest costs the same as a plain colour.
Numbers, names and the team name
Basketball is the sport where front numbers matter most: referees and scorers read them during play. Put the number on the front and a larger one on the back, in the same font, in a colour that contrasts strongly with the area behind it.
| Position | What usually goes there | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Chest | Team or club name | One line, large enough to read from the stands |
| Front, below the name | Player number | Smaller than the back number, same font |
| Upper back | Player name | Optional; a surname or nickname |
| Centre back | Player number | The largest element on the singlet |
| Lower back or side | Sponsor logo | Keeps the front clean |
Check your competition's rules on number sizes and allowed numbers before you send the roster, and read every name and number on the mockup before you approve it. For more on layout, see where logos, names and numbers go.
Fabric for indoor courts
Indoor stadiums get hot. Our Classic fabric is a light 160 GSM knit, included in the price. For the most airflow, Signature Long Mesh 160 has open mesh channels and suits basketball and summer comps; Signature fabrics add A$20 and carry an anti-microbial, UPF 50+ treatment. Compare every knit in the jersey fabrics guide.
Shorts and warm-ups
A singlet looks finished with matching shorts. Sublimated shorts start at A$56 and can carry the same side panel and trim colours. Warm-up tops and track pants in the same colours complete the bench; see team tracksuits.
If you are budgeting the whole uniform, the basketball uniform cost guide works through singlet and shorts prices for a full squad.
